Gucci’s Alessandro Michele presented their 2020 resort show on May 28 , 2019 and of course the show was once again maximized with brilliant colors, silhouettes, and overall fantastic fashion. The show was presented in the world’s first ever museum, “Musei Capitolini”, located in Rome, Italy.
Alessandro Michele decided to clearly and boldly implement political views into this resort collection, a mid show radiant purple pantsuit was embellished with the wording “My Body, My Choice”. Other politically inspired looks included an ivory dress that included a uterus and the historic date of legal abortions in Italy 22.05.1978 was shown throughout several pieces.
In an post runway interview, Alessandro Michele was quoted with the statement “Women have to be respected...they should be free to choose what they want.” We think this a strong and important statement made by Alessandro and Gucci.
The show’s looks included a wide array of pops of color including ultraviolet, kelly green, turquoise, mustard, cobalt blue, and a radiant red. Furthermore the show included lots of prints, embroidery and tiered layering.
Here at Scout HK, we reflected the show including the pops of color, layering, and embellished prints within the brand Area Stars housed in our showroom.
